I am so blessed to have more sisters than I originally got born into. Bess is one of them. She is pregnant and just found out a couple weeks ago that the baby is a GIRL. Maeve will be her name. I love it. I am glad B is getting out of the sick mode she was in and enjoying the kicks and flutters. I love how she dresses and she was over and I just thought, ok the witching hour is upon us, we better get some shots of you preggers!

Anyway I love this shed behind our house, actually there are two, the difference is the pattern of vines growing on them. I think she is just so beautiful and I cant wait to meet her little tiny.

I get to babysit this little bundle of joy every once in a while. On this day it was just too perfect not to be outside. And she is walking now, so it was all fun in the sun...with precious owl cardigans. Luckily I captured the pre-I feel on a metal toy on the bridge of my nose Aisling. I died. But she is still perfect and well;) I love you baby girl.

Cruz's first birthday

My friends have the best parties;) I love Leanne's style and decorating skills, HOLY MOLY.
Cruz was enjoying mostly everything, except shin kicks from my son. I do not know what compels that child.AH
HB and I enjoyed the donuts, chocolate milk, party gifts, candy cigarettes, and mainly the company. Thanks Leanne and Steven for a good memory a lovely house to spend it in and the most beautiful baby boys!! Happy Birthday Cruzer!

Eidson Family Session

I had the privilege to photograph this lovely family last week when the weather was warm and pleasant. Thanks guys for sticking it out, two hours is a long time even with good weather and a 1yr old. But lil Jax was a trooper and had his awesome big sister Londyn feeding him snacks while I shot Austin and Sarah. Thanks Sarah again for calling on and having someone pick up my lens that OF COURSE I forgot on a sidewalk on Main St!!!! I did get it back;) for reals I need a bag of some sort that isnt the same size as my upper torso, to carry my lenses around with me. So besides the loosing of lenses, and the group of kids or homeless people smoking and boozin it up at our last location, it was pretty amazing and very entertaining!! Thanks guys again for having me do this, it means alot. Hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

I also made Londyn read her Bible before we left;)

Sarah told me, "of course Jax bumped his eye", but I love showing it cause every bump and scratch is just part of growin up;)

Pam's 70th Birthday party

Pam asked me a year ago to take candid shots at her birthday party, I gladly said YES! It was fabulous and there were lots of people there, some I knew(family of course) and others I got to meet. Her house is so fun and pretty much like a mini art gallery, ok like a real art gallery. So many stories and memories and friends art work and she probably knows most of them.
Pam was harder to shoot than a two year old, this lady can move. I was constantly trying to find her;) she is so cute. Cute, beautiful, gracious and very thankful for all her friends. She had Red Onion cater the whole night, and I was like if they bring out one more place of Tuna Nachos, I dont know wha.....ohhhh look TUNA! hahaha yeah it just kept coming and I kept swiping bites. Amazing, all the food was amazing. AND the CAKE. Oh Mary Chambers made the best cake not only was it beautiful and well crafted of course, it was so delicious. The icing was chalked full of buttery goodness with an almond flavor, which is my favorite.
Pam asked that I shoot in black and white, so I did. HAPPY Birthday PAM!
Thanks to Elliot as well, both wonderful hosts.

Hey everybody, I know its already the middle of December(holycow) but I hadnt posted anything from the last holiday. And I kinda slept through a could hrs but woke up in time for a tractor ride with Grandpa Boyce and the grandkids and my lovely husband who was so kind as to let me sleep. I took other photos with my phone like of the table which I posted on my FB if you want to see them. So here are just a few.
I am excited this year my family gets to enjoy both families in FULL this year. The always welcoming Chambers home and the far but not too far, Irwin Christmas. YAY

I am thankful for such wonderful and growing families...my sister in laws are blessing me with children from both sides;) Anna Bess(Chambers)Lanyon and Kelsey(Carrol)Irwin.

Anyway I am so excited and I have some news about something BIG BIG, but not telling.
And noooooo Mom I am not pregnant.

Hannah's Senior Session

Hey guys so here is Hannah! Her and I met for the first time the day of her session. I must say I could not have been more excited and please:) She is this tall and gorgeous bombshell and had the most amazing personality and smile EVER!!
I had so much fun, she was cracking me up, constantly battling the wind....which I kept apologizing for, as if I had control of it. And her openness to do whatever I said including wearing my over the knee socks;) you rocked em girl. She wants to go to Culinary School and so I went to Crabby's and asked if we could shoot in there. It was fun and they probably thought we were silly maybe because if you really looked at the line, it had definitely been fried and battered;) But Hannah made everything shine so I think they turned out.
Then I took her to Lucky Strike Ranch again!! Thanks R for letting use your land yet again.

Thanks for all the fun and I hope enjoy these as much as me, we might even do a 50's shoot sometime this coming spring! YAY so looking forward to that, right!!??

sorry it has taken me so long to post these, but my computer has been on the fritz. I actually bought a new one today. Frustrating but also necessary.
I love this family. Its always fun when you know the people that you are shooting but also fun to get to see them more, through the lens. Three wonderful beautiful girls fun loving girls, and the parents are pretty great too;) Thank you Lett family for enduring the long drive out in the country and the run in with locals to allow me to get shots I envisioned. The last time Nan went it had huge Egyptian heads and statues. She said it was just bizarre to see in this tiny town. It's just a store front not a store you can go in.

So too many boring reasons why I havent gotten around to posting these photos let alone being able to get to them. But here they are. I shot these oh like beginning of the summer.
I love hanging out with Bethany, she is hilarious and witty and always laughs at my jokes...oh and will do anything for me, like sit with an old gentleman for a shot. And all you lovely folks enjoy this inspired 70's shoot we did, equip with aging editing that hopefully doesnt come off too yellow I kinda wanted them to have a wildfoxy kind of look...and my favorite wrangler high waisted (i think they are mens) jeans...just cant part with them, and Bethany you totally did them more justice than I could, ever:)

I decided to do a shoot with my sister and brother in law(my husbands brother). They are so dear to me and she has become a like real sister to me. I wanted to dress them up, style them and take their pictures, and they were down with that. She has many James Perse pieces and I wanted to incorporate the white dress she has cause I love it on her.
I could sit here and ramble on but I really just want to see these photos. There were so many that I wanted to post and this is already going to be alot but...I dont care:)

I met JnJ for the first time right before this shoot, and I immediately knew this was going to be awesome:) I knew exactly the place, I have been in contact a couple times with the owner of this land, the Lucky Strike Farm. Its old mining land and the owner hopes that soon he can make it into a real farm with cows/horses/crops/windmill, ect. Anyway special thank R!!
There were so many places and I couldnt stop taking pictures of them, like I said a couple posts ago..Jared was just smiling from ear to ear admiring his gorgeous wife and she was laughing and smiling back. Thanks guys I cant wait to see baby Emery Jude Prater:)

Lynn and her brother Tyler got ahold of me to shoot a session for their mama!! How sweet and thoughtful are they! I told Lynn that I've never done photos for siblings older than like 12 or something so ....but I think they turned out awesome. I met Lynn first out of all my friends that live here in Joplin...and we both live 3-4 hours away and both have the word Union in our rinkie dink towns;) And I got in a fender bender at the gas station in her town when I was 15;) small world.
Anyway I love Lynn she is my witty beautiful and fun friend and her brother is really sweet,fun and I love that he was willing to do this with his sister.

Day 10: A Photo of What Ever You Please

It just so happens I tend to do my 'whatever I please' on the shoots I do that day;) I have gotten the pleasure to getting to meet the Praters, Jennifer and Jared and hopefully soon to meet their new little baby boy! These two are so adorable. I got teary eyed on the way to the shoot just thinking about how this is such an amazing time in their lives and also remembering it and how I loved being pregnant and think this is such a great and exciting thing to photograph.
Jared was just smiles from ear to ear and Jennifer is just stunning and beautiful. Ahhh Thank you guys, it was a pleasure!
I'll show you that smile and beautiful face next time;)

I am heading to my folks house today and will be gone for a bit, it's my mama's birthday on Sunday and I am going to make her dinner;)

Hi, well this is super late in the posting, I really didnt have a good reason on why it was, but time slipped by today. I keep thinking tomorrow is Saturday when indeed it is Sunday.
SO I had the pleasure of shooting someone so it worked out with the assignment rather well. Sarah Carney is GORGEOUS..and we went to a salvage yard near Carterville and took a photo on a boat!! Cant wait to share that one...also went to an ol' BnB down the road. Anyway thanks Kim for letting us use your resources;) it's like a treasure hunt in that dusty nail infested heap of yours..ha
And thank you Sarah for letting shoot your face, always a pleasure!
Ok well I think I've been training my body to stay up late(not on purpose)..and I'll probably just go to bed and think for about two hours, but I feel like I should at least try.

Ok so it is 1am and I am still up and technically it is the next day and I just feel like I can go ahead and post my photo from today. I was running out of daylight and ideas for this high venture. But my son was sleeping and I was at home and then my sister in law Bess, who is also doing this challenge:) stopped by for some tea and sisterly talk. She is gorgeous, so I thought I would incorporate her in my photo this time round. The highest point I could get to on my house was through the attic out the front window and onto the porch roof. So this one might be obvious ...but my favorite place to be is anywhere...with these two fantastic gents! I love my husband and my son.
We tried going to Silver Dollar City this week and, well we got all the way there and it was closed...closed! Disappointing and frustrating yes, but it never got to me because I was just excited to be with my two most favorite people and honestly it just made me laugh cause, this kind of stuff always happens to us;) And probably lots of people...but.
Anyway Eli didn't want his face in this so I told him I would just get enough of him in it.

I love natural light so much..I have these Roman shades in my house and they act as kind of a diffuser. Anyway I gave Eli the final say on which one to post, I liked several..and if you haven't noticed I have a problem with posting only one. So I think this will be good for me. Challenging...which is the point right. Anyway I like this one because its just as I took it, its mucho gray and the only thing in focus is that little bit of hair falling in front of my face.

I wanna give a shout out to my Ivy girl, her 2nd birthday was on Aug 11th..I'll post some of those soon.

MARY's bridal shoot

MARY, she is so stinkin amazing!!:) Chuck and Mary are the hipest, newest couple there is..and well Mary if you cant tell, makes my job easy peasy.
I went with her shopping for her dress but she went back and got it with her mummsie. But I got to be there for a final fitting, which ended up being a final cleaning before fitting could commence..but still gorgeous in her dress and I was dying to see the final product.
Well we went and did some shots the week before which I asked her if she wanted to wait because her hair was going to be different, like different color, and she said, 'nahh, this is like me anyway, always changing my hair color'. I was like hey that works for me, so we got her ready at her work(which is wholesale beauty, pretty convenient with all the things we got to use) and then we were off. Oh and her Jeffery Campbell shoes were to die for!!

I am so happy and so overwhelmed with joy for my sweet friend Mrs. Mary Dodge!

He loves his new wagon. The neighbors up and left and literally left stuff behind. They were super kind in actually leaving a note as well as their propane grill and electric weed eater. But one day when my mom was down and knew of their point of no return, she got the forgotten wagon out of their yard, cleaned it, and now it is Henry's favorite thing. He likes taking rides, giving rides, running with it while Beta bites the wheels, picking up treasure he finds in the yard,(not beta's treasure). And as you can see he likes carrying as much stuff in it as he can.
Yesterday we went on a walk and he pulled it while I picked up trash along the way. It was fun, and I think he feels so big and important pulling it around.

Anyway Eli cut a ball that no longer had air and made him a hat, he didnt really know what was happening, but dont worry Henry Im sure these are some photos that I'll show your wife or put in your senior yearbook page.

Ok so this one holds a pretty special place in my lil heart, because Buff is like a baby sister to me. And I have loved her family from the first time I met them, and have been connected with them ever since. And now to see her with a family and the apparent love as husband and wife, well just makes me overjoyed with happiness for her. There is so much to say, but just know that I love you guys sooo very much, thank you for letting me capture this special time in your lives.

Thanks Aaron and Lindsey for supporting such a great cause and giving me the experience of shooting you whom I never met before (first time for that by the way) and making it a wonderful session and great morning. It was soooooo windy and heated up real quick but these two love birds were so easy going and hilarious. We met at the Joplin Flea Market and then ventured on from there, but I was excited when they were down with going in and kissing it up in front of people;) aahhhh thanks guys for being so good.

This is the name I just made up for this lil ol codger. (I say codger cause my dad says it, makes elderly gentlemen sound pugnacious to me.)
So Bethany loves to dress up, of course I love this too. Her and her sister Adrienne who is also just as gorgeous but didnt want pictures,(like I let that happen) came over and hung out, I use to work with them both at TJ, they are my ex_employer's nieces. I also have taken photos for and of B before.
Anywho..Bethany wanted to do some 70's-ish inspired stuff, so we collaborated. It was super fun and stupid hot out..Henry came along and afterwards I bought him frozen custard at Shakeys ( ..and I know it's Shakes but I refuse to call it that, cause it IS Shakeys why the decided to changed the name I dont know).

So yeah I've always wanted to do a fashion shoot with some random older dude. And this guy, so cute!...I just couldnt pass it up and Bethany was all for it. I dont think he understood what we were saying really but he went along with it. I might make a habit of this, I like it. I just wished I lived somewhere awesome like Norway and could find old men that look like this to do a photoshoot with or just to hang out with, while listening to his stories and eating some really good cheese or something.

So its late and Im rambling.

Well here are some photos of the 4th with my family, Eli and HB. A photoshoot I did with the awesome Will Vastine and his lovely assistant/GF Erin Sunday. And just other random things like Eli being recorded for his friend Kevin's album and snap shots of my friend Shauna from the shoot and my gorgeous son who is so big now..Henry Boyce.
Im going to sell some vintage pieces of mine on my Etsy that I got in an estate sale from an elderly lady who made all of her own clothes...And Im going to donate the money I get from those pieces to people in need from the tornado that destroyed many homes including the home I bought these clothes out of. I want to do something to contribute and also give others a chance to help who dont live here. I feel pretty helpless and my home was only 3 blocks away from the path of destruction and we got away with only a scratch. So I want to help with fashion. I wonder if that sounds dumb?
Anyway whatever, Im doing it..

I am in love with these too babies. They are gettin hitched and it couldn't be a more perfect match. I had the pleasure of doing their engagement photos yesterday and it was so much FUN. My favorite is when I have to follow my subjects...mainly Mary..she kept moving and I kept snapping, Gorgeous..that is the best. I know you didnt think you were doing much Mr Dodge, well you really didnt have to cause you just look so cool;)you and your mustache are impressive.

I went up to my folks last weekend and had the privilege to photograph this pretty girl I went to high school with and her lovely family. These boys are little heart-breakers sooooo stinking cute:) We decided to venture onto my uncle and aunt's property I liked the open landscaped view and the boardwalk they built from the garage to the house. Then we also took some at her Grandma and Grandpa's house with her Grandmother's quilt....it was so soft I really wanted to steal it;)

I swayed my sister in law Hannah to come along with me this last wedding. As well as another hitch-hiker Brooke who had some business where we were going. I thoroughly enjoyed the companionship. These two lovely ladies were great travelers. Anyway Hannah was an amazing help even if she felt like she wasnt really doing anything;) she was. I also want to say thanks again to Ginger for letting us use her loft for the well needed slumber..and for the wonderful espresso that greeted us in the morning.

I can not express how much love there was on this day from them inviting a homeless man into their rehearsal dinner to the apparent, boisterous, selfless love that was going on all around and especially within this beautiful Godly couple.
I shot this in St Louis at Jubilee church..whoot whoot (shout out to my fellow NFI'ers) so it was very welcoming and I got to see people I hadn't in a long time.

I wanted to post some of the NO Face shots and foot shots and a good timing shot.

I know we want our kids to look at the camera every time because you think, oh they wont be able to get any good shots, and 'I paid for this they better pay attention'. Well I love every angle of your kids;) Virginia the eldest was in her own world, probably playing with Thomas the train and all the Trolly Stop characters. Didn't bother me any..I still got some great shots of her looking and some shots of her not expecting me, and after I get the shot she laughs and runs away. HAHA So although it seemed like Im not getting much, I am;)
But I am posting the shots of V that I like very much, where she is not looking...I especially love the one of her in the store front! And she has natural ombre hair;) I have to pay for mine..ha
And then there is one of Alice in the field of clover playing which I think is so sweet.

Oh and also yea feet..I always take photos of feet.

The last one is one that Jessica the mother of these two adorable little girls, kept sighing over when I was showing her on my camera that day. It the one moment that they both looked at each other and were both in a great position. For the most part Alice did not like Virginia trying to hold her hand or get her a hug or even being too close to her..ha! So I am glad I got this one.

I've been making myself sick lately thinking about the horrors of real life. And then I see this picture..this moment in time that was taken expectantly but also in the same setting unexpectedly. My mom was down a couple weekends ago and I was having her take Henry and I's photo on that brilliant Sunday afternoon. The photos of HB and I when we were looking weren't nearly as good as this one. I love it. Thanks Mom. I hope I am half the mom as you are to me.
And I thank God for being so good to me.

I was on my why home with Henry and thought.. I feel like he should get some shots in these bright red cord overalls. So I did what any good mom would do..took his shoes and socks and shirt off and put him on a huge rock and back up a couple feet ....just so I can take some memories. He was scared at first...then cars started driving by and all was well with the world. And then his Papa and uncles stopped as they were passing. I hope they see these.

Took some shots of some friends of ours yesterday. It was so fun...and hilarious. I cant express to you how it makes my day when people, get into character, do the splits in the most tight maroon pants, and run around in tiny tennis outfits.

I took some photos of my friends lil boys last week, it was so nice out and we met at her parents home outside of town. Her husband and one other son Kai were sick, so I just hung out and shot the oldest, Maddox and her newbie addition Cruz.
I forget how much I miss that new born baby smell...mmmmm.
Cruz was awesome for how much he was going commando and Maddox, well was in his element;)And I stuck my shirt on him..ha

Some friends of ours came over the other night, Eli is helping(playing drums)Caleb and Erin Paxton out March 4th downtown Joplin at the Rapha House. The name of their band is Eine Blume
Anyway they are awesome people, with an awesome baby girl that I got to play with.
Miss Blessed Aisling she is a bundle full of goodness. While mommy and daddy were smashing up cords with a banjo and an accordion I put her to sleep and then my camera woke her up..ha but for reals she is the bestest lil thang, she doesnt cry or nothin.

This white stuff just kept falling and wouldnt stop. I took some night shots of the first big snow. What did we get like 18 inches in one day or something..it was crazy and beautiful. Sorry that I am so behind on updates. For those few and loyal readers;) I love this light in my backyard, not sure why, its not like its a gorgeous spot or anything..its just mysterious I think is why I like it. Anyway yelp.

Mya was my victim of the day;) She toughed out the misty weather. Ok it was rather wonderful really. She is a trooper though, I feel like she would literally do anything I tell her to!! Ha she is so hilarious and is so beautiful.
Ive actually known Mya since she was born, her parents lived with us for a while when I was little and then well they started making babies and had to get their own house;) Mya was the fist of five girls in this loving, gorgeous, Godly family. I love them, and that is that. Mya is now (making me feel old) at OCC. I stole her away before she had to go to basketball practice. I didnt know she was playing, hope I can go see her play...it'll bring back memories from when I went to basketball camp there when I was in jr high....and when both of my brothers played. It was good times. I dont really have a zest for words so enough talking.....thanks again MyMy!!

I had the best time with HB this last weekend. It got up to 74 degrees on Saturday and we had the doors open all day. We went and at lunch outside with daddy and then Henry slept most of the afternoon which left we with some time needed to clean. But he enjoyed the warm sunset screaming out the screen door and talking about cars and throwing his soccer ball everywhere. He is growing up soooo fast I cant believe it. He is such a sweetie ah!
And then the next day it got down to the 30's - 40's so we ate in the kitchen with our hats and jackets on.

Merry Christmas!

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to say thank you for all your support and love for me and my family. It has been a fun year to say the least. Henry is such a good boy, and as Nana Mary would say, 'what a lil prince'. Eli is working at Earie Williamson Music store here in Joplin as store manager (or as I call him Mr. Manager). Im still working at TJFormal (6 years now) doing all the shipping. Prom is coming up and we are getting in tons of dresses for the upcoming prom season.
Henry is growing and changing everyday. He is practically running these days, saying many words and has recently come up with his own jibber jabber, it is so cute!
He is so darn cute, I look at him everyday and feel so lucky to have something so amazing and perfect in my life. He is my little man child and I love him so much and Eli is such a good daddy it is pretty precious.
We are both working longer hours and Christmas is in two days and I feel like there is not enough time to do everything!! I finished up on Lindsey and Barry's wedding photos and can not wait to post some hopefully in the next day or so.
We are spending Christmas day with Eli's parents and then my parents are driving down Christmas day to stay the night with us. I am so grateful for my parents and Eli's for that matter. Mary (Eli's mom) has been watching him every week which is so incredible and she is such a saint and I feel privileged to have her be my son's keeper while we are at work. My mom and dad come down every couple months or we go up there, Im just glad we live close enough to be able to do that. Well at least its not like we live in different countries, although sometimes it feels like it:( But I do love my family so much and they make me happy.
Thank you mom and dad for coming down to see us we cant wait to see you. And thank you Tim and Mary for being available to us right now, it is such a blessing and I know Henry enjoys it too!
I cant wait for Christmas this year with HB...Eli's birthday was the 19th and just watching Henry tear tiny fragments of wrapping paper;) He'll have fun for sure this year.

In a couple of months I am driving to Las Vegas for WPPI with a dear friend Melodie and her friend Kacey.. wwwwuuuuuuu WPPI ! So that is going to be awesome and Im sure we will blog it up constantly during that trip:) I am hoping to learn new fun and fabulous was to make my dream and love for photography become a reality and career! YES?! well or I will get stupidly depressed about how much I stink compared to all these pro people, eat my weight in orange slices and soda and just sit back and rot, orrrr I will be super motivated and bust some good photos out;) I choose #2.

I want to be more organized and crafty this coming year... Photo shoots and posting vintage thrifties on Etsy. And maybe just maybe be more active. Some one recently told me they wanted me to join them in a two on two basketball rumble and I said, bring it on!!
Henry is either going to love me or get super annoyed with how much I will want to play catch or one on one with him when he gets older;)
Im not like this girl who watches games on the tube, although I really like watching Rugby for some strange reason, probably cause I dont know what is going on and try to figure it out. But I just love being athletic, running mainly, being competitive and well you know winning. Why am I talking about this so much...ha.
OK so yea, hopefully I will get a website going soon and have prices up and galleries...its just making it harder without it.

And one last thing, I just wanted to tell Melodie how much I appreciate her friendship right now and how helpful it is to have someone to kinda go through this together with. Thank you for answering weekly questions and making me laugh everytime! ps did you get Skype yet!

I had so much fun hanging out with this family, their friends and family. Lauren made the cake herself for her little man and it was awesome. There were lots of great gifts and lots of love for this perfect boy. He was fairly careful at first with his football cake, but mom and dad helped him a little and then he was acting like a pro, he's like I got this. Oh my gosh he was just sooo cute and has the best blue eyes.

I had lovely time with this family. Seeing an old friend and making new ones. I drove to Neosho and shot some fun pics...there was a parade going on later that evening and we saw people getting ready for it...the one thing I wished I would have just done, was take their picture in a crowd of blue dressed people all wearing santa hats holding instruments so I guess in other words a band;) maybe next year..but I think I got some pretty great ones anyway. Such a gorgeous family!!
